Open tender specifications for environmental monitoring

Specify sensors by use case, climate, and evidence — not by brochure claims.

A practical public library for smart-city climatology, mesonet, hydrology, and environmental monitoring procurements.

1. Define the monitoring decision

Clarify what decision the sensor data must support: warning, compliance, operations, maintenance, planning, modelling, or public reporting.

2. Select the exposure profile

Translate heat, humidity, salt, ice, dust, flooding, vibration, vandalism, and power limitations into measurable requirements.

3. Write verifiable requirements

Use acceptance tests, calibration requirements, uptime targets, data formats, cybersecurity controls, and maintenance obligations.
